What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Ayres Vineyard & Winery for its exceptional Pinot Noir and intimate tasting experience, often highlighting the personal interaction with winemaker Brad McLeroy. The unique character of Ribbon Ridge wines and the welcoming atmosphere make it a standout destination. While the appointment-only policy requires planning, it contributes to the highly personalized and memorable visits.
"I was curious about Ayres having had their glass pours at many restaurants and wanted to taste in person. They taste by appt. only. So we emailed the day before, and had an appointment in minutes. We tasted with the winemaker, Brad McLeroy, and had one of the best tasting experiences. Brad makes only/mostly pinot noir, with a touch of rosé and Pinot Blanc/Sauv Blanc for hot summer days. These wines were flat-out excellent. Balance fruit and structure, a great example of ribbon ridge characteristics- more blue fruit with baking spice characteristics compared to the more red-fruited Dundee hills. Brad is gregarious, generous, and welcoming as they come. I didn't intend to buy a case, but that's all it takes to join the wine club with no additional annual purchase requirement. Just buy when you run out. Definitely worth a visit."

"By far the best vineyard I visited in the area. Small, family run, knowledgable and friendly. Most important the wines were excellent and very well put together. If you get the chance go over all other places and certainly buy some of the wines to drink. The rosé is excellent. The whites are delicious and the red is a very very good wine and all very well priced so. Buy!"
