What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary

"I've been stopping by this park for almost 50 years. What occurs to me is that the views are timeless. Tiny. Quiet. Accessible. Give it a look. It's worth the effort.
Update- Always beautiful. Took the photos of the northern mockingbird and the black phoebe on 22APR2025 using my S24 Ultra."

"Another Upper Newport Bay view park worthy of mention.
Although I’m not a big fan of small neighborhood parks as an outside visitor, I enjoyed the quick stop off just to check it out and take in the scene!
The whole park is a nice experience to see on the inside, with the beautifully maintained garden and lawn landscape.
The views looking out are amazing! I could see from the mountains to the sea! Down to the left are natural estuaries. Not popular for people activities, but as wildlife habitats for us to preserve! So it is with the immediate area below the park, with just a few canoes and boarders, compared to the busier mainstream park views to the west, tho the harbors and Pacific Coast Highway bridge may be seen from here, down on the right.
A small trail winds down the rocky cliffs to the shoreline, although access is now blocked by the park fence.
Street parking along Galaxy Drive was limited. The small width of the park offered little privacy when as few as four people were separated and spread out on blankets and benches. I felt awkward taking photos with them in it, as it was obvious and intrusive to capture images in such a tight space, seemingly so up close and impersonal!
I opted to wait for the opportune moments when the coast was clear, at least from the lookout points!
Public restrooms are lacking, so sooner or later, the visitors will have to go! There’s easy access to facilities at the nearby Mariners Park, just a few blocks away."

"This park has a gorgeous view of the Back bay in Newport Beach with the Eastbluff community in the foreground and Saddleback Mountain in the background. The smoke in the sky above the mountain is from the Airport fire that started in Holy Jim canyan. Incompetent Orange County Public Works crews used heavy machinery to move boulders into place along Trabuco Creek Road without a watertruck sparked the devastating fire."
