What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Betzwood Picnic Area offers a pleasant experience with its accessible paved trails along the Schuylkill River, ideal for walking, running, and biking. Visitors appreciate the picnic facilities and the chance to see local wildlife. However, a significant drawback is the high prevalence of seed ticks, particularly on off-path areas, which can lead to unpleasant infestations and require diligent preventative measures and post-visit checks.
"Walked in this off path trail because one bikers are everywhere so we just wanted to get out of the way so we took this trail and got totally lost that took us through the boonies. Then we got home gave dogs a bath and so happened to look at their paws and there were seed ticks ALL OVER them. Terrible looked at the bed and they were ALL OVER the bed. 100% do not recommend this place if you are looking for off trail parks."

"I 100% do NOT recommend this park if you are looking for “fun” nature trails. I took my dog for a walk down the hiking trails, and when we got home, I discovered she was completely covered in seed ticks! Hundreds of them ended up all over my apartment, and now I have to pay for professional help to deal with the infestation. It’s unbelievable that a public park would allow this kind of problem to go unchecked. If the city is going to have trails open to the public, they should be properly maintained and sprayed for ticks. This was a nightmare experience, and I won’t be coming back."

"Great trail just outside King of Prussia area. Flat paved surface for a long distance. Walking, running, biking, rollerblades are all options. Squirrels, birds and deer are often seen just off the trail.
Downfall on certain days is some of the bikers think that they are in the “Tour de France”. Just because you wear a pair of spandex shorts doesn’t make you the owner of the path."
