What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mazza Vineyards is praised for its delicious and diverse wine selection, historic charm, and beautiful Lake Erie views, particularly at sunset. Visitors appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff who offer helpful recommendations. However, some guests have experienced issues with tour availability and a perceived lack of engagement during tastings.
"What a beautiful and historic Pennsylvania Winery. The winery itself was very interesting with lots of neat displays. The wines were delicious. They have a variety of different wines and styles for you to choose from. The staff is kind and friendly and the owners are amazing and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a great part of Pennsylvania wine history."

"Good afternoon, everyone. I strongly do not recommend visiting this winery for several reasons.
First, when I called a few hours in advance and asked if we could come for a tour and tasting, I was told, “Yes, of course, come by — no reservations needed.” But when we arrived and asked for a tour of the production area, we were told that no one was available to do it and they came up with a bunch of different excuses for why it couldn’t be done. I was very disappointed because the main reason we chose this winery was precisely for the tour, not just the tasting.
Second, the wine tasting itself was very, very basic. The person who presented the wines didn’t explain anything about what we were tasting. On top of that, the tasting flight didn’t even indicate the order of the wines — first, second, third, or fourth — so as we tried them, we had no idea which wine was which. There was a total lack of staff engagement during the tasting process.
Third, the reality is that there are many wineries in the area. Don’t be misled by ratings or reviews that may be artificially inflated. People often choose this particular winery because of those reviews, but there are surely other wineries where you can get a proper tour and where the staff is much more involved and welcoming.
The only thing I heard from the person who greeted us was that “we’ve been in business for over 50 years.” That was the only “highlight” they managed to share — nothing about the wines, the history, or anything else typically shared during a winery visit.
I’ve visited wineries in various countries, including France (in Provence), and everywhere I’ve been, the staff was far more enthusiastic and shared plenty of stories and details."

"A beautiful building in a nice setting. The inside looks great! We had a wonderful time here talking to the girl that worked there. She was very pleasant and helpful in helping us pick out wines we liked. They have a really good assortment of all kinds of wines and lots of traditional ones we really liked. Mazda is always on our lists of must stops when we are in the area. It’s well worth the stop, you won’t be disappointed!
Highly recommended!"
