What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Wickford Village is praised for its undeniable historic charm, picturesque harbor, and quaint New England atmosphere, making it a delightful place for leisurely strolls and shopping. Visitors appreciate the well-preserved colonial homes and waterfront dining options. However, some find the specialty shops have lost some of their unique character over the years, and a few have experienced unwelcoming staff in certain establishments.
"My partner likes walking here. As for my honest opinion, the specialty shops used to be way more interesting 10-15 years ago. Now they reflect a moderately globalized & sterile vibe enclosed in colonial buildings. Not a soulless place though, as it retains some of its old charm."

"Cute village close to the harbour and the coast. The Main Street is nice and has some cute shops but we found the staff in the shops to be quite unwelcoming - it made us have a bit of a feel of being ‘outsiders’. When walking round the streets people could say hello so the general public seemed friendly. Good walks in the local area and saw lots of wildlife like egrets, cardinals, squirrels and chipmunks! I would say for sure this is a very seasonal place, we visited in the days leading up to Memorial Day and it was very quiet, lots of the shops weren’t open long or opened late in the day."

"A small quaint and unforgettable little town that is magical during times like Christmas and also during the Wickford Art Festival in the summer. Located on Wickford Cove right near the water where you can enjoy a meal and a drink outside overlooking the cove. Hard to beat the atmosphere here. Come and enjoy! Great little shops and antique stores too."
