Driving South Rim to North Rim in one day. Who’s done it? Am I crazy for trying?
I’m visiting in July with my father who has two bad knees. Needless to say, no hiking will be involved and we’ll keep to the main lookout spots close to the road. I want to get the views of the south rim and the stargazing of the north rim. The plan is to leave Flagstaff at…

North Rim Access
We are road tripping from Seattle in the fall. It was originally going to be in September, and we had reservations at the North Rim lodge for a couple nights before heading to the South Rim. We had to change to October, and now the North Lodge is closed during our time frame. I…
North Rim worth it?
Visiting Nov 1. With the Bright angel POINT trail closed how “epic” will be the views at the north rim? We plan to do a day trip from Zion thanks!
💧 Stay Hydrated
Even in cooler months, the high desert air is dry. Carry plenty of water, especially if hiking.
🐻 Wildlife Awareness
Keep a safe distance from all wildlife. Do not feed animals, as it's harmful to them and can lead to fines.
Utah Mighty 5 + Northern Rim Grand Canyon - advice?
Hi everyone! Because of high flight costs, my partner and I think we won’t get another trip out in a long time, so we want to try to add the Grand Canyon to our Utah trip. Has anyone done the Mighty 5 plus the north rim of Grand Canyon in a trip? If so, would love your insight!…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the North Rim's breathtaking, less crowded views and the serene, natural atmosphere. The historic lodge and scenic drive are also highlights. However, some find the rustic accommodations, limited dining, and the need for advance booking to be drawbacks.
"Wow! I have been to the Grand Canyon a handful of times throughout my life. Visually, I had been merging my memories of what the South Rim looked like with all of the Grand Canyon. This was my first time visiting the North Rim since I was a little kid, and it is so much different than the South Rim. What a beautiful place to visit. It wasn't too packed, not too hot, and the views from every direction were so surreal. I definitely recommend going to see both sides of the Grand Canyon if you haven't before. There was also a lodge there that I want to check out in the future."

"Beautiful place—very well organized and clean. It has restaurants and souvenir shops. I highly recommend getting the America the Beautiful annual pass, which costs $80. It covers entry to all U.S. national parks for a whole year.
If the park charges per vehicle, the pass covers everyone in the car. If the park charges per person, the pass covers the pass holder plus up to 3 additional adults (kids under 16 enter for free). It’s a great way to save money, especially if you plan to visit multiple parks or travel with family or friends."

"The visitor center lodge was really cool (built in the 1920's) and had large windows and comfortable sofas to view the canyon--nicely air conditioned in the June heat and had clean bathrooms. Also had a cocktail at the rough rider saloon area to cool off after hiking."
