Everything I made during the three day French Pastry class at King Arthur Baking School
Mini kouign-amann, salted caramel chocolate tarts, macarons with French meringue vanilla bean buttercream, gougeres, eclairs, caramelized onion, ham, and swiss brioche tarts, and brioche Nanterre. It was a great class…my compliments to the instructors!

King Arthur has two baking classrooms in the US, and I took a course on croissants this weekend.
Hey! That's Geoff! I live close by to the WA State school and have taken a couple classes there. There is also an amazing bakery, [Water Tank Bakery](https://www.watertankbakery.com/) just a couple blocks from the King Arthur School! Despite being an industrial area, there is…
Tips for visiting the 3rd week of November
Hello, I’m visiting Vermont to take a class at the King Arthur Baking company HQ. Any recommendations around the Norwich area? Everything I’m researching seems to be in Stowe. Also, I think I know the answer to this already, but will the leaves be gone by then?

Bakery/ Area Recs
Hello! I was hoping to gather some recommendations for bakeries to apply to in Vermont. I am seeking to be a part of a community oriented baking operation. I currently bake bread professionally in Boston. Thanks in advance. Also, I bike, so areas with feasibility for that…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the King Arthur Baking Company Flagship Store as a 'baker's dream' with an extensive retail selection and a pleasant cafe. While some find the pastries average, the overall experience, including the outdoor space and knowledgeable staff, is highly regarded. It's a must-visit for baking enthusiasts.
"We made this a special stop on our driving trip to New England. Having purchased items online we wanted to visit the HQ so to speak. We were not disappointed. The retail bakery had so many delicious items and the shop had everything we had seen online plus some. It was the beginning of "leaf season" so there was a crowd, but manageable. We left with three bags full of mixes, baking pans, and goodies to eat on the rest of our travels. Do not stop here if carbohydrates is a bad word in your culinary vocabulary. Long live bread (all kinds)!"

"Grocery Store + Bakery
Stopped by this past weekend to grab some pastries in the morning. At first, I thought it was just a small local bakery, but it turned out to be more of a multi-concept space with a grocery store, baking school, and café all under one roof. There’s also a large outdoor lawn, which made it a nice spot to hang out with coffee and pastries.
In the bakery section, they had both pre-packaged goods (like apple pies and cookies you’d find in a grocery store) and a full display of fresh pastries. We picked up a few cookies and pastries, but even with a dedicated pastry kitchen, everything felt fairly basic. The cookies were too sweet (especially the almond cloud ones), the chocolate croissant was too soft inside with little flakiness, and the sticky bun was the only thing that was solid."

"Fortunately this popped up when looking for
a place for a late lunch on our road trip
We stopped just after 3. The cafe closes at 4. What they don’t tell you, or remove from the menu board is they stop serving soup at 3 (doesn’t seem logical) and if they are out of something.
I had a ham sandwich- it was good. The bread is challenging when cold.
Broccoli slaw- good flavor but dry!
Cajun Shrimp sandwich- hubs really liked it.
Croissant was one of my favorites.
Chocolate chip cookie was bomb!
Citrus honey cookie was good
Chocolate cupcake- great frosting.
Vanilla cupcake- snoozefest and dry.
The shop on the side is great too!
Cute space and area, lots of seating inside and out"
