The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio - Oak Park, Illinois, USA - Designed and built in 1889 - National Register of Historic Places 1972 - National Historic Landmark 1976
There are probably a dozen or so houses of his design in the surrounding blocks, with Ernest Hemingway's childhood home a few blocks away as well. Lots of great street art, and good food too. A great place to walk around for anyone in Chicago who needs a break from the big city
Ernest Hemingway home, cats: Safe after Irma slams Key West
I was there in July and went on the tour. The house was built to withstand hurricanes and flooding. I don't know about anything this bad, but supposedly the basement has never flooded. I'm glad all the six-toed cats are safe.
