Heading to Yosemite from SFO - route and hotel suggestions.
We have reservations this fall for inside the park. I thought after we land in SFO after a 7 hour flight we'd drive a couple hours and get a hotel and get to the park the next morning. Google Maps suggests two routes, both start by heading East on 580, but one has us continuing…

"Oakdale Cowboy Museum is a great museum to check out for historical cowboys and cowgirls from the area and other places.
The staff's were awesome, they also have a gift shop which I loved. I had a great experience when I was in town to check this place out. This place may be small, but it is packed with many historical information and people. I didn't know Oakdale was the Cowboy Capital of the World until I came to this place."

"Visiting family in Oakdale & they highly recommended we stop. I love museums of any kind, and this was so well curated! I learned a lot about the area, including serving as home as the great Bushwacker bull. Each item had information on it, so it was easy to get lost in learning. The gift shop is great!
Outside there is a cowboy statue and if you walk east from the entrance, you'll see a stunning rodeo mural. Oakdale's rodeo is an annual celebration and key to the town's identity. This captures that perfectly. Yeehaw!"
