"I've been coming here with my family for about six years, and we used to really love this place. However, our most recent trip was a huge disappointment. We stayed on the first floor, which is very convenient, and we’ve always enjoyed the deck outside. But this time, the experience was far from what we expected:
The room was in much worse condition than last year:
My five-year-old niece was playing on the deck when her foot went straight through it. (It would have been so much worse if one of the adults went through instead)
The deck umbrella was completely unusable.
The deck itself was dangerous and in poor shape, with many splintered boards. Many soft spots where holes were starting.
The AC in the living room and kitchen was broken the entire time.

Warped cabinets that look like they are about to fall off the wall.
Wobbly or loose furniture (chairs, coffee table, kitchen table)
Missing nightstand in one room (compared to other years)
When some of the castaway cove rides would ride by, the whole deck would shake.
For the price we paid, this was unacceptable. I’m truly disappointed by the lack of care an maintenance, it’s clear the quality has seriously declined.
The Flanders is a shell of it's former self.
I do not think I can see us renting another room here ever again."

"Historic building on the boardwalk with ease of getting to the beach and rides. Perfect location if children enjoy rides as it’s steps away. Fabulous high Tea made possible by lovely front reception, Linda, who insured she kept me informed. Did not see the ghost of Emily but fun looking nonetheless. Gym was accessible 24/7 and had enough equipment to workout. Spa and coffee shop in hotel."

"We had our wedding at the Flanders, and they did an incredible job! The hotel is a gorgeous venue for weddings, and from our first tour it stood out as a unique location that would look great in our photos. The food was excellent; we especially enjoyed the dim sum station at our cocktail hour. Our guests gave rave reviews about their meals.
Lisa and Molly were great coordinators who assured us throughout the whole planning process that everything would go smoothly - and then made it happen! Being an obsessive planner myself, and doing all my decorations myself, I put together a binder of my plans for how each piece should be displayed. Lisa and Molly took that with grace, asked questions where needed, and made it happen!
Joanne was an amazing maitre d' who anticipated our every need. She ensured that the day went perfectly, starting with the moment we walked down the aisle and she gave us some hints for scoring the best photos. She had also clearly read our binder. I was especially impressed when we came out of our ceremony and she had a platter of drinks ready for us and our wedding party while the marriage certificates were being signed. She was able to make a lighting change in one of our decorations happen while we were decompressing after the ceremony. During our Farewell Breakfast the next day, she coordinated packing away our homemade decorations, allowing us to enjoy the event without stress.
Overall, the day went perfectly. It really is true that the best-laid plans will only succeed with a good team, and I feel strongly that we made an excellent choice in trusting this team for our wedding."
