Reviews Summary

Visitors often find the Skunk Ape Museum to be a uniquely quirky and fun roadside attraction, offering a glimpse into Florida folklore and local wildlife. While some feel it's a bit pricey for what's offered, many appreciate the friendly staff and the opportunity to support a small, local business. The surrounding natural beauty and camping options are also frequently praised.

"Camped here 2 nights, nice large pull through site with maintained grassy area, picnic table, and fire ring.
50 amp electric and water hook up for $75 per night.
They have great little laundry building with 2 washer and 2 dryers and cost was $2 per load each machine wash/dry.
Bath house is “rustic” with sinks/toilets/showers.

We have camped a lot in Big Cypress over the past 3 years at other state & federal Campgrounds, so we were fully aware that there are massive mosquitoes in the swamps, and this place is no different (( So please come with that knowledge of you book to stay here! )) we simply place a strong fan on high at our RV door - and this blows them away without chemicals.
Outside our door we have huge citronella candle & incense sticks burning and this keep them at bay as well.
And be a smart - swamp savvy tourist, no matter how hot, always wear loose long pants & loose long sleeve shirt with hoodie - and the mosquitos won’t bother you so bad.

Gift shop and reptile areas are nice & make sure to at least support small local business with donation in reptiles area bin & buy a cool sticker on your way out before you leave!"

"Misleading no skunk ape history or memorabilia only 2 plaster prints. Aquariums where half empty. 20.00 for 2 people to see. A tortoise, couple gators and snake. No story tellers. Only thing was a small gift store. When they advertise on maps it's portrayed as a lot of Skunk Ape adventure. Don't waste your money or time. The only fun where statues until you enter."

Patricia Andrews

"Emily was welcoming and friendly when we stopped in for the first time on our way between cities! Cute souvenirs and snacks, a few animals for view for a few dollars. Learned some really cool skunk ape lore from her!"
