Reviews Summary
Ogden City Cemetery is a historically significant site with beautiful old tombstones and a surprisingly shaded, peaceful atmosphere for walking. However, some visitors have noted issues with maintenance, including overgrown vegetation obscuring graves, and concerns about the handling of memorial items. The cemetery also attracts those interested in its reputed paranormal activity.
"Now, look, I've stayed in my fair share of unsatisfactory motels. HOWEVER. I can not say I was in the slightest bit prepared for the indignities I suffered at the hands of the staff and other residents! I came out of my room one night to get a drink (there was no minifridge with waters in it as the website promised) and the employee simply shone a flashlight in my eyes, gaped like he was seeing a ghost, and ran from me! The last person in my room left a funky smell, a bit of brown blood on the sheets, and rotting chunks of what might have been food under the bed, complete with maggots and some used cigarette butts. Speaking of my room, it was so small and dirty that the twin bed took up almost the entirety of it. That bed left my body practically falling apart most nights with how stiff it was. I was crawling out of my room instead of walking, some nights. It was really undignified --- my door often needed to be pushed open or even hit before I could come out. Quite unbecoming for a woman of my stature! I've been a governess for over 200 years and expect to be treated with respect at this point! And the restrooms were all staff only."

"We came from out of state to lay flowers on all our ancestors graves and had a hard time finding my great grandparents because the large "Jonathon E. Browning" marker was completely swallowed up by an extremely large shrub/tree. His wife and some of his children had markers completely buried under dirt and we had to dig through with our hands to unearth them. Disgraceful. We went to office to complain and did not receive much sympathy but they said they'd have someone "look into it". I asked for pictures once it is corrected but they would not comply."

"Worst cemetery to bury your loved ones. They take your flowers and other gifts you take your loved ones. Absolutely disgusting human beings for not allowing there to be any flowers or anything to show our love to people who’re no longer with us. Don’t even deserve a one star."
