What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise the Oklahoma City Zoo for its improvements, animal variety, and engaging experiences like giraffe feeding. The zoo is seen as a great value for families. However, some guests find the lack of shade in summer challenging, and occasional issues with animal visibility or food options are noted.
"It had just finished raining so the air was cool and the animals were out. Super stunning baby giraffes stopped me for a while. I also got to see the newest baby elephant. I loved watching the other elephants live and protect the baby. Super cutie. What a nice, relaxing day. It couldn’t not have been better."

"Been bringing the kiddo here since he was very little. Summer tradition for us for sure. This zoo has improved tremendously throughout the years in a positive direction. The bathrooms could be cleaners and the supplies could be stocked more frequently and more misters. But other than that the facility is clean, the animals seem healthy and tended to. And the facility seems full of animals. Pricing is affordable as well if you do a daily entry or a seasonal pass. The food prices could be a little better and maybe more carts for waters, etc. But other than that this zoo is a fun thing to do with the family."

"We had such a great time at the Oklahoma City Zoo! Our group included seven adults, a 3-year-old, and an 11-month-old—and we were all able to get in for just $150. Such a great value for a full day of fun, especially with our extended family joining us.
The zoo itself is beautiful, clean, and impressively large—we didn’t even make it through the whole thing before it was time for nap time! We especially appreciated the interactive stations set up throughout the park, where friendly zoo staff shared info about the animals and let us touch things like a real zebra pelt. It was a great way to keep everyone, kids and adults alike, engaged and learning.
The variety of animals was wonderful, and we were happy to see the animals in large, thoughtfully designed enclosures. My son was completely captivated by an ostrich that followed us along the fence—definitely his favorite moment of the day! I personally loved watching the red pandas—they were so fun to see up close.
While we didn’t eat lunch at the zoo, we saw plenty of people enjoying generous portions, and I have to say—the chicken tenders looked surprisingly good (and I don't usually say that about zoo food!). We also noticed a few spots offering adult beverages throughout the park, which was a nice bonus for a relaxing stroll.
There were also plenty of fun photo opportunities scattered around the zoo, which made for great memories and some adorable family pics.
All in all, we had a fantastic visit and would definitely recommend the OKC Zoo to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly adventure!"
