What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the Oklahoma State Fair for its vibrant atmosphere, diverse food options, and thrilling rides, making it a fun experience for families and friends. However, many note that prices for admission, parking, food, and rides have become quite high, and some express disappointment with the early closing times compared to previous years.
"My daughter and I had the greatest time at our first Oklahoma State fair, I'm from Louisville KY and my daughter was riding a sheep like a bull rider within 10 minutes of us getting into the fair to meet my coworkers/friends/family. It was seriously the best 5hrs I've had in a long time. Great place! Still, Go Cats tho lol #BBN #KentuckyWildcats"

"I gave it two stars because of the long corn dogs. Parents/people please be careful, check the breading on those. Got one last night and it was still wet, raw batter on the hot dog. You could see the non cooked batter also on the inside bread. That batter contains eggs and other ingredients. So just be careful especially if you have allergies or don't want to get sick. I didn't think to get pictures, but I wasted $10 and didn't even get to eat half of it."

"We went there for my grandsons graduation. It was big enough to hold family and friends plus the 450 graduates. There was also plenty of room to park. Congratulations, class of 2025!🎓"

The Evolution of the Oklahoma State Fair
Recent years have seen a significant increase in prices for admission, parking, rides, and food. This has led some long-time attendees to feel that the fair has lost some of its original charm and affordability. However, for many, the unique experience of fair food and the thrill of the midway still make it a worthwhile annual event.
Despite the cost concerns, the fair continues to be a popular destination, drawing visitors from across the state and beyond. The introduction of new and innovative food items each year keeps the culinary aspect fresh and exciting, while the variety of rides ensures there's something for every thrill-seeker.
Fair Food: A Culinary Adventure
While the variety and creativity of the food are undeniable draws, it's important to note that prices can be steep. Many food items and drinks can cost upwards of $10-$20, and a full family meal can quickly add up. Some reviews have also pointed out inconsistencies in food quality, so it's wise to be discerning.
Despite the cost, the fair food experience is often considered a highlight, offering a chance to try indulgent treats that are not readily available elsewhere. It's a culinary adventure that many visitors look forward to each year, making it a significant part of the overall fair experience.
Navigating the Rides and Attractions
Wait times for popular rides can be substantial, especially during peak hours and weekends, often ranging from 30 minutes to over an hour. Planning your ride strategy, perhaps by visiting during less crowded times or heading to less popular rides first, can help maximize your time.
Beyond the rides, the fairgrounds host various attractions, including live entertainment, games, and exhibits. While the focus for many is on the rides and food, exploring these other offerings can add another layer to the fair experience.
