What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Mima Mounds for its unique geological formations and peaceful prairie setting, with accessible trails making it enjoyable for many. However, the proximity of a gun range can lead to disruptive noise, which detracts from the natural tranquility for some.
"Wonderful little natural prairie reserve with mysterious hill formations, surrounded by forest. Don't forget sunscreen because it's so exposed.
Sadly a gun range is basically in it, so a walk around the loops feels like you're in a minor war, with the constant gunshots. On the longer loop you are so close to the gun range you can see skeet shooters and hear them speaking, not shouting, "Pull" as they shoot rifles in the air. Beautiful place made stressful by all the noise. Total bummer."

"A very pretty and unique place to take a peaceful nature walk"
Mariah Brown
"There is a local gun range popping off but the wildlife seems to accept that and not much to see but a bunch of mounds on a prairie with unique wild flora. Read the theories about how this place came to be."
