"History is nicely ☺️ preserved here. Place is neat and clean. They have a small office where they have everything explained in pictures 🖼️. They also have preserved some materials like military 🪖 hat, weapons like knives, javelin head made of brass, metallic water bottle etc. Monument is made very nice and similar to other monuments in USA. "This was a bloody and important battle in the Revolutionary War. Although no clear "winner" it preventd the British forces from combining forces and splitting the colonies. It also drove a split in the Iroquois Confederation."

"The Oriskany Battlefield memorializes a major event in American history. Without the events that happened here, the Continental forces at Saratoga may have lost and France might not have joined the American cause. The battle was a loss but was a Pyrrhic victory in that it caused British reinforcements to turn around and not be available at Saratoga. The site makes it apparent that without alliance with the Oneida nation, the entire situation might have changed. There are so many moving parts in this chapter of Revolutionary war history! The battlefield is worthy of a visit!!"
