What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Hideaway offers a mixed bag of experiences. While some patrons rave about the friendly service and affordable, tasty bar food, others lament the loss of its original dive bar charm after relocating. Service can be inconsistent, with some encountering rude staff, while others praise attentive servers. The new building is modern, but many miss the character of the old spot.
"WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT..... I used to love Hideaway Bar, but ever since they moved its turned into every other bar that you can find. The original location was a dive bar and thats what made it unique and stand out as well as their wings.
I went this past Saturday afternoon and there was no hostess. After 15 minutes a server finally came up to me and my friend and said they would be right with us. The server took our order, but after that I never saw him again. Somehow he went from server to behind the bar??? My food came out and my chili cheese fries had no cheese. After 10 minutes my friend was finally able to get a server to correct our order. Instead of making new fries for us they just gave us a cup of cheese to add to our now cold fries. The wings needed more buffalo sauce barely coated in it.
I was on the "Think about it podcast" and gave this place a great review, but now I wish I never did as it doesn't live up to the previous excellent standards since moving to the new location."

"I unfortunately had to delete my previous glowing review of The Hideaway from a couple of years ago when it was across the street back when it was a charming little dive bar full of character and good energy.
We’ve given the new Hideaway multiple chances thinking maybe we just caught it on an off day or ordered the wrong things but our most recent visit sealed it for us we won’t be returning. The food service and overall experience were incredibly disappointing. I completely understand being short staffed, but the attitude from the waitstaff was shockingly rude and uncaring. At one point, I didn’t even want to bother our waitress again for a to go box so I started wrapping my half eaten hot dog in a napkin only for her to snap, “I’ll get you a damn box!” Not to mention the food was way below sub par every time we have recently visited. We also waited ages for basic things like drink refills and especially for the check. When our friend finally walked over to ask for it he was completely ignored.
It’s such a shame because the new building itself is modern and nice but it’s lost all the charm friendliness and affordable dive bar feel that made the old Hideaway so special :("

"This place was cool. I think his name was Jeremy or something but he was very welcoming and kind of gave us the rundown about the food and how things worked out there knowing that we were new in town. Our server whose name I have forgotten unfortunately was super nice and super friendly. Everybody there was very cool. There were servers and managers coming by that weren't even helping us that were asking me if we needed anything. We will certainly come back here."

The Evolution of The Hideaway
This shift in atmosphere means visitors should manage their expectations. If you're seeking the gritty, unpretentious vibe of a classic dive bar, the new location might feel like a departure. However, for those who appreciate a clean, well-lit space with good food and a friendly (though sometimes inconsistent) staff, the new Hideaway offers a comfortable experience. The poolside location at Cabana Bay Beach Resort offers a different, more family-oriented vibe, while Enzo's Hideaway in Disney Springs provides a distinct speakeasy experience.
Navigating Service and Staff
Conversely, other patrons have reported long waits, forgotten orders, and even rude or uncaring attitudes from waitstaff. One review specifically mentions a server snapping at a customer. This inconsistency can be frustrating, especially when combined with food service issues like cold fries or under-sauced wings. It's suggested that arriving during off-peak hours or during a shift change might impact service quality. Patience and clear communication with staff are key when dining here.
Enzo's Hideaway: A Speakeasy Experience
The menu at Enzo's Hideaway features Italian-inspired dishes, with the cannelloni being specifically mentioned as a highlight. The overall vibe is described as 'so cute' and 'such a vibe' by visitors. While it shares the 'Hideaway' name, it offers a more curated and themed dining adventure, distinct from the casual, sports-bar feel of its Orlando counterpart.
