Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful, easy-to-navigate trails, making it ideal for a quiet walk and nature observation. The frog pond is a particular highlight for its charm. Some visitors have noted potential access issues during summer camp hours, suggesting it's wise to confirm availability beforehand.

"The Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary is such a peaceful place to go for a walk and get some fresh air. I visited after work when the sanctuary was (practically) empty. The trails aren't too strenuous, they actually merge into each other during some points and all end back at the main entrance. There are a lot of recreational areas with benches and seating throughout the space.

My favorite place was the frog pond that is located towards the beginning of the trail. It was fun looking for frogs, and hearing them squeak as they dove into the water. The little frog statue is surely not something you want to miss!

Overall, I'll definitely be coming back to this sanctuary when I need some peace of mind. It's a beautiful space for contemplation and admiring nature."

"Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center is a 12 acre woods next to the Youngs Memorial cemetery where he is buried. There are three parallel trails to take through the woods. One higher one leading by the cemetery, one main middle one, and one lower one. You could take one out and another back for a loop trail. If so, I’d recommend going up the higher trail and coming back on the middle trail.
It is quiet and offers seeing various birds along your walk."

Jim Holland

"A beautiful fall afternoon with colorful trees and birds. This is a fairly small place, but it's very quiet and a lovely place for a leisurely walk. The fountain is also attractive and there are nearby benches to watch the birds or just read. My wife and I had a great time."
