The road was in good condition, but I'm glad I wasn't in a sedan. Off-road vehicles drive up the same road. Drive with care there are some blind corners and hills.
Take your time to sit on one of the benches and look around. The world is a glorious place."

A rainbow of colors of volcanic ash formations, desert plants and abundance of wildlife awaits you. The parking lot (with outhouse and picnic table) can be reached by any car. A day trip is definitely worth it, as there are also several viewpoints (Palo Verde, Mesquite, Ironwood, and Smoke Tree) that offer beautiful views of the Colorado River valley."
