What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Alaska State Fair is a highly anticipated annual event, celebrated for its unique Alaskan charm, impressive giant produce, and vibrant local crafts. Visitors enjoy the festive atmosphere, live entertainment, and rides, making it a beloved tradition for many. However, potential visitors should be aware of significant parking challenges, especially on weekends, and the prevalence of cash-only vendors.
"The Alaskan fair is likely the best state fair I have been to. It is different in that "exhibitors" are outside in their own storefront sheds (no tents in this town). Not as many animals as you would see in other state fairs in the lower 48. Lots and lots of crafts, arts, and such... Likely they have lots of time on their hands in the dark months. Really enjoyed it, perfect temp and luckily, no rain."

"The Alaska State Fair is definitely very fun for everyone. I go every year and I have a really great time! Bring CASH for everything, as many places do not take cards, CASH IS KING! There's a great atmosphere with lots of fun rides and good food."

"I gave it 3 stars, because even though we enjoyed the fair itself the over 2 mile line wait just to park was terribly tiring! Lots of the vegetables and some of the flowers on display were wilted and the Pumpkins were not on display. The cost just to get in for two people was over $30 at the gate. We definitely won't ever go back on a weekend, if ever! Crab Shack Crab cakes were good, but don't waste money on the grilled Scallops."
