What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Cedar Park and Beth El Cemeteries are mixed, with significant concerns raised about grounds maintenance and inconsistent staff interactions. While some visitors have had positive experiences, particularly with individual staff members, others report neglect of plots and confrontational attitudes. The sacredness of burial plots in Jewish tradition is often contrasted with the perceived lack of care, leading to disappointment for many families.
"BEWARE!!! Just heard about a story of a family finding a stranger in their family’s plot and the cemetery refuses to move it. Absolutely horrendous on what that family has been through. And the way the cemetery has handled it has been nothing short than just cruel and dismissive to that said family. Anybody that would plan on buying property from this cemetery should absolutely be vigilant, since obviously owning anything in that cemetery means nothing those that own the business."

"My husband and I live in AZ. I called and spoke to Carmen and asked if it was possible to get pictures of my mother n laws headstone for my husband since traveling isnt as easy if we lived close. I also would like to make sure the care of her resting place was well kept if not i want to do that for her and our family. Plus, I know my husband misses his Mom. Carmen was so kind and went over and beyond for me. And my husband was so grateful he loved to be able to see it. Thank you Carmen and staff."

"There are certain foremen that always carry themselves with an attitude and Larry who manages the cemetery office is always confrontational with an unkind attitude when you approach the office with family requests rather than being respectful to the needs of the customer but politely enforcing their rules. Many of the office staff are nice, but it feels like they have compassion burnout from being overworked and underappreciated by not only the clients, but also their management. It really makes you feel their administration only cares about money and abandons their own personnel's well-being. There's a reason this is one of the most poorly rated cemeteries in the whole state."

Some individuals have even offered their expertise in landscape design to help improve the grounds, suggesting a willingness within the community to contribute to better upkeep.
It's crucial for potential plot owners to thoroughly investigate the cemetery's maintenance practices and understand what is included in their agreements. Visiting the site beforehand, if possible, can provide a realistic view of the current conditions.
Navigating Staff Interactions and Customer Service
These differing accounts suggest that customer service can be inconsistent. It's advisable for visitors to approach the office with clear, polite requests, understanding that policies will be enforced. Being prepared for potentially varied staff attitudes can help manage expectations.
Some reviews also touch upon the administration's perceived focus on profit over personnel well-being, contributing to a less-than-ideal work environment for staff. This can indirectly affect the visitor experience.
