"We attended the BBQ Dinner & Train Ride event hosted by St. Rose of Lima Church at Halter Ranch, and it was truly an unforgettable evening.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was outstanding. We were warmly greeted by a gentleman in a golf cart who drove us to the train ride. The staff there were wonderful, offering us wine and a souvenir train ticket before boarding. The train ride itself was a delight. Winding around the property, it was peaceful, fun, and even exhilarating at times. Honestly, it was better than Amtrak. A narrated guide highlighting the sights and art pieces along the way would make it even more special in the future.
After returning, we were taken by golf cart to the dinner location, where the evening continued to impress. Our group of six enjoyed a private dining room, perfect for celebrating my mother’s birthday. The BBQ dinner was fantastic, and our server, Liam, went above and beyond. He carefully accommodated our dietary restrictions, worked seamlessly with the chef, and even recommended a delicious dessert wine that we bought to take home.
As someone who grew up in SLO County, I’m amazed I hadn’t discovered this hidden gem sooner. The entire experience, from the train ride to the dinner, was wonderful, and our family can’t wait to attend future events at Halter Ranch.

"We enjoyed a wonderful tasting hosted by Omar at the Estate. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and had a wonderful table next to the vineyards with a view of the stunning Ancestor tree! We enjoyed olives and a wonderful cheese and charcuterie plate as well. Later in the afternoon, we experienced our first ride on the Halter Ranch Railroad train through the vineyard property! So fun! We are members and will be back soon!"

"Absolutely wonderful experience at Halter Ranch this past weekend. We attended the Annual Ancestor Dinner and stayed on property in the Pilot Cottage which was amazing! I can't imagine doing it any other way. I was really pleased with the Cottage as it was so well appointed. What an absolute treat!! Thank you personally to Hannah for getting us set up so well and taken care of. Thank you Halter Ranch for a memorable weekend!"
