What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunningly clear, refreshing river and the iconic historic Bridgeport bridge, making it a beautiful spot for family outings and relaxation. While the park offers great amenities and natural beauty, some find certain trails unexpectedly steep and warn about limited parking, advising early arrivals.
"Great spot to take the family, we paid $10 for parking, then it was about a ten minute walk across the historic bridge and down the bank to the water. Easy to find a park & an easy walk. Incredible clear water, the current is flowing pretty fast but there is also a good swimming area on small rocks almost like sand to take young children. They also let you rent out the life vests for free for the kids. 10/10 spot for a swim."

"So I had been wanting to see a field of wildflowers for some time, so after some research picked South Yuba River State Park. The wildflower walk was okay. 1st thing I didn't see any fields of flowers..we climbed a trail that had end up being very steep with a roaring river below I had my kids with me and did become nervous about the whole thing...it was 2 way traffic and no barriers preventing anyone from falling. The volunteers did great at telling us about some of the flowers that were there but bless their hearts...they should not have been leading this walk. Nice place to go for a hike without the kiddos but overall not what I expected from their WILDFLOWER WALK."
