Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Fort Mifflin as a hidden gem with rich Revolutionary War history and engaging staff. The cannon demonstrations and unique plane-spotting views are highlights. While some find it can be muddy and wish for more paranormal activity on their visit, the overall experience is highly recommended for history buffs and those seeking a unique historical site.
"It is one of the last remaining Revolutionary War sites remaining with still intact original structures. If you love history then this is a must visit. It is a mud fort and can be very wet in some places, so wear the right shoes. Some say its extremely haunted. I did catch the strong smell of a wood fire in one of the buildings, but it could just be the smoke smell trapped in the old building. Definitely do recommend!"

"A hidden gem! "Protecting Philadelphia's Airport Since 1771"
We visited on Saturday, walking in just in time to witness the firing of their signal cannon!
The staff are amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable.
We were told repeatedly that we came on a good day as the fort was not flooded, allowing us to access all parts of the fort except the Officer's Quarters, which is being repaired following a fire.
This was an ACTIVE BASE until the 1950s! How amazing!
Go see this fort that changed history!"

"What a great place to learn a piece of history! Quite a lot of interesting stuff there. The tour guide was really into it and love his job. He even had plastic forks because I forgot to get one for my salad lol. Plus, he fired one of the cannon for us too. We did the night tour and it was only ourselves. Unfortunately, nothing out of the ordinary happened when I was there. But still was great regardless. I definitely recommend going there if you are nearby the area. I would also buy it ahead of time."
