Best short 2-4 maybe 5 mile trail in Pisgah (or anywhere in WNC) with moderate crowds? Parkway is closed for weather.
Hi NC! I will be arriving in the Pisgah area at around 1pm Tomorrow. I hope to day hike, chasing great mountain views or waterfalls, but I'm concerned about crowds, so now I'm just looking for a generally beautiful trail, as I can stop at Looking Glass Falls to get my waterfall…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking beauty of Pisgah Gorge Falls and the accessible main overlook. Many enjoy the adventurous hike to the lower waterfall and gorge views. However, some find the trails poorly marked and confusing, and restroom facilities can be limited.
"This is definitely worth a visit. Tue falls can be seen from an easily accessible platform (there are some steps). There are also trails for hiking. I will say that the trails are not well labeled and the map is somewhat confusing.
There is a building for events, which has a restroom, but I think it is usually locked. There was one portapotty near the entrance to the parking lot."

"Beautiful waterfall. There is an overlook to see the main fall. Looking at the overlook there are trails to the right and left. Trail to the left is short and to the top of the waterfall. The trail to the right leads to 2 overlooks of the gorge and to a lower waterfall. When you get to the little bridge go straight to find the 2 overlooks. Turn left at the little bridge to hike down to the other waterfall (it is difficult over rocks but worth it)."
Jason Johnston
"Visited during the Mountain Laurel Festival. Truly enjoyed the bands that played, the BBQ and getting to hike down to the bottom. The view and breeze overlooking the gorge was breathtaking."
