What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the C&O Canal at Point of Rocks for its scenic beauty, abundant wildlife, and historical significance. The dry towpath is ideal for cycling and hiking, with plenty of parking and nearby dining options. However, the condition of the pit toilets is a recurring downside for some.
"I traveled on the towpath for 13 mi on my bicycle between point of rocks and Harpers ferry and then made the round trip back. It was on election Day so while not completely devoid of people it was fairly quiet unlike on the weekends where you can have a considerable amount of people near the bigger towns. Weather was excellent around 60° bright sunshine and due to the lack of rain the trails and towpath were completely dry with absolutely no mud at all."

"Beautiful trail, with lots of wildlife. Plenty of cute turtles of all sizes and fish of all sizes. I was obsessed with the Fledgling birds they were beautiful and intriguing! There were ducks with their little chicks! Just motivational for a run hike or anything in between especially when the trail opened up after a couple of miles and there was water on both sides. Only downside was lots of bugs I was scared to breathe through my mouth when I picked up my speed.
They have restrooms and food trucks! Overall I will be back here for longer duration exercise."
