What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lawai Beach is a beloved spot for its incredible snorkeling and frequent sea turtle sightings, making it a memorable experience for many. However, visitors should be prepared for a rocky beach entry and limited sandy space. Parking can also be a challenge during peak times.
"This was the first place I ever went snorkeling in 2023, and i have a soft spot for it. That said, the rocks are a real obstacle getting in and out of the water. I walked away with a few bruises, and my companion got a sizable scrape down his leg. The coral is scattered around beneath the waves, plenty of fish to see, and you might catch sight of a very majestic turtle. Honestly, the turtle encounter bumps this up to five stars. It really made my day."

"This is a very small beach and does not have a lot of shore to lay on. It is fairly rocky but it boasts a nice inlet area towards the shore that makes it a prime snorkel spot. If you are staying close by and want snorkel it is nice having it close to home. Aside from that it isn’t really worth it if you are not snorkeling or have to drive a bit to get to it. We did see our first beached seal here sleeping and soaking up some rays which was cool."
