What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fisherman's Wharf Port Clinton is a popular spot for Lake Erie fishing charters, with many praising experienced captains and successful catches. However, potential visitors should be aware of inconsistent customer service at bait shops and the critical importance of confirming safety protocols with charter companies, as one review detailed a dangerous experience.
"Love David and Kenny 2nd year in a row with them as our captain and 1st mate! Amazing team!"
Christie Mislivecek
"Great bait store plus fishing charter"
Jason B (Jaybr078)
"Absolutely terrible experience with this charter. What was supposed to be a fun day of fishing on Lake Erie turned into a nightmare. We were taken straight into a waterspout with 90 mph winds, and the boat was not properly secured or prepared for those conditions. A loose object went flying and gave one of our buddies a concussion. On top of that, we only caught two perch the entire trip.
The first mate told us he had just spoken to the owner and we would be getting a full refund because of how unsafe and disastrous the trip was. But when we followed up, they completely went back on their word and now claim we won’t see a dime back.
The lack of professionalism, honesty, and basic concern for safety was shocking. If you value your well-being and your wallet, stay far away from this charter."

Always confirm their cancellation policy and what happens in case of inclement weather.

While many visitors have positive interactions, one review detailed a highly negative encounter involving rudeness and a physical altercation with a shop owner. It's always a good idea to check recent reviews for bait shops or be prepared to explore other options if you encounter poor service.
