"The Esopus Meadows light house was built in 1871 to warn mariners of the mud flats known as the Esopus Meadows.
Aboard the Hudson River Cruise ship (Rip Van Winkle) we were able to get very close to this landmark which was very enjoyable. Reminded me of touring on the Rhine River in Germany and seeing all of the castles on Islands and shoreline cliffs."
