What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Point Hudson Marina is praised for its stunning waterfront ambiance and convenient location near downtown, offering beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. However, some visitors note issues with campground amenities like inconsistent hookups and a digital-centric check-in process, along with pay-per-use showers. Potential for wind is also a consideration.
"We stayed here 2 nights ago camping in the campground. Expensive considering we had no electric water or sewer. We were to have power but adapters were needed. No 30 amp. We didn't know about the showers or even where they were till we were leaving. We arrived around 7:30 pm and after speaking to the office in the morning and letting them know about the power issue they seemed unconcerned. It would have been nice to have a map of the park too. The ambiance of the place was the best part as we like being near water."

"Wife and I stayed a couple days to relax and breathe in some fresh air. Unforturnatly, when I got home and washed our motorhome, we noticed a ding and small paint chip on one of the side compartment doors. I do remember a worker using a weed wacker very near us when we came back from walking on the beach. Our motorhome is garaged and hasn't had any dents until now so I find it a little bothersome. Accidents happen and it's not the end of the world..."

"Lovely location with a beautiful view! Downtown was only a few blocks and I didn’t have to drive anywhere once the rv was parked. The showers are pay for use if you don’t have one in your rv."

Navigating the Campground Experience
Check-in procedures are largely digital, relying on text messages for guidance rather than a traditional physical office. While efficient for some, this can be a point of confusion for those expecting a more hands-on check-in process. It's advisable to have your phone readily accessible and to be prepared to follow text-based instructions. Additionally, shower facilities are available but operate on a pay-per-use basis. Knowing this in advance can help you budget and plan your day accordingly. Despite these considerations, the ambiance of being near the water is frequently cited as a major draw for campers.
Exploring the Jetty and Waterfront
Visitors often highlight the beautiful views and the pleasant ambiance of being close to the water. The jetty is also a great vantage point for observing local marine life, though sightings can vary. When visiting, it's important to be aware of the weather conditions. The area can be windy, so checking the forecast and tide charts is recommended, especially if you plan to be out on the water or near the jetty for an extended period. This foresight ensures a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
