"Ive been an on and off Volunteer of The Music Hall since 1986...over the years have seen some amazing performances: Tony Bennett, Pearl Bailey, Bobby McFerrin, Broadway shows such as White Christmas, ELF, Beauty and The Beast, also Portsmouth NH Symphony, Writers on the Stage the list goes on and on....I've seen the Music Hall transform with new seats, Proscenium, Chandelier, new paint and the uncovering of Vintage trompe l'oeil fresccoes, the beautiful Lobby and bathrooms. The Music Hall, in my opinion, is the CENTER of all that makes Portsmouth HOME. When you Volunteer, you have a chance to be part of history, but get to see world- class performances FOR FREE!"

"I love this theatre. It's always fun being in Portsmouth. Great shops and restaurants in walking distance of the theatre, and the theatre itself is beautiful and well run. My only complaint are the old theatre seats. They get very uncomfortable after a short while."

"First time attending a show at this beautiful venue. Such an intimate setting! We saw a band and I think most seats are good because you can hear the music from anywhere, however if it was a play there are some partially obstructed view seats. Not sure about all the seats in the balcony as we were on the lower level. All the volunteers were really nice & very helpful. I felt like I was in the Grotto when I went to the ladies room! Was not expecting a fun bathroom!"
