What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Glenstone Museum for its magical blend of contemporary art, stunning architecture, and serene natural landscapes. The free admission and expansive grounds are major draws, offering a unique and immersive experience. While the no-photography rule indoors and the cafe's offerings receive some critique, the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with many eager to return.
"This is an amazing place to visit. Went for our first time ever and was pleasantly surprised by what we saw. Unlike most museums you have to work to see all the treasures this one holds. A few of the exhibits were closed due to heat but it was fine. We spent over 2 hours looking and learning. We will definitely be back and going in October. There are rules. Don’t ruin the experience for others by breaking them. We left exhibits due to people taking photos which was expressly told to us not to do in the indoor spaces. Speak to the guides. They’re friendly and knowledgeable about everything especially the art pieces. Ask which direction is preferred when viewing an installation. Going in backward will not ruin the experience but going in the beginning will explain it. I will recommend this to everyone. I wish Caroline had been more attentive to questions but she was in her phone the entire time we viewed the art in her area. also those of you who posted pictures in areas where you were told not to take pictures(inside buildings) should be ashamed of yourselves."

"Cannot describe how magical this place is. The grounds are extremely well maintained. With pathways guiding you easily through the exhibits. Every turn leads you into a unique little world. Throughout the property, there are strategically placed guides waiting with helpful information. Not to mention there are water stations seeming everywhere. This is a perfect destination to get a little exercise and be immersed in beautiful architecture, art, nature."

"Glenstone has a very contemporary collection of artwork both inside and outside. The buildings are similar to giant monoliths dropped into the middle of a field. The walking paths are great, but be forewarned some are gravel paths are not appropriate for everyone due to elevation differences. Based on the stringent ticketing protocols, you WILL NOT feel crowded out. The grounds are well staffed; you won't feel lost or disoriented. Glenstone is a quiet place to walk, watch, and enjoy."
