Go Behind the Scenes

The private tours offer incredible up-close animal encounters and learning. ⭐

Kid-Friendly Exhibits

Exhibits are at perfect heights for little ones, making it easy to see animals. 👀

Kindergarten field trip to the zoo with my third and final little sidekick. It hits a little harder every time now—knowing he’s the last one I’ll do these things with. The years are flying, and my heart is hanging on tight. I love him sooooo much. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of not missing a single field trip with my babies. These days are exhausting, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Heritage Park Zoo for its family-friendly atmosphere, engaging animal exhibits, and excellent amenities like the splash pad and playgrounds. The behind-the-scenes tours are highly recommended for an up-close experience. While it's smaller than major city zoos, its charm and focus on conservation make it a worthwhile visit.

"What a fantastic experience! We opted for the private behind the scenes tour (1.5 hours, just under $300 for two people), and it was so worth it. You get up & close to several animals to give them snacks, and the host gives you a plethora of information about the sanctuary and each animal. Dyann was so knowledgeable and a great guide for our experience. The sanctuary is a wonderful cause and well worth every minute. It's not a massive complex either, so it's very easy to take a stroll around with just a few little hills and awesome scenery. Highly recommend!"

Kristin Marzec

"Amazing place for little kids. Really enjoyed how close the animals are. The petting zoo area was a fun spot. There are lots of playgrounds throughout to play on and even a little splash pad. The zookeeper interactive sessions with the bears and jaguar were real highlights!"

Christopher Milner

"Just spent a wonderful few hours visiting the zoo. The park was clean and the walk through clearly marked.

The zoo is fairly small compared to those in large cities. We finished the walk through, played in the splash pad (SO glad they had one), and visited the gift shop in about 2.5 hours.

We loved seeing the wide assortment of large cats and birds of prey.

There was a summer camp happening and all the kids looked like they were having a blast."
