What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests rave about Hotel St. Michael's prime location on Whiskey Row and its undeniable historic charm, complete with original wooden floors and a vintage elevator. The friendly staff and on-site speakeasy are also frequently praised. However, many guests note significant street noise, particularly on weekends, which can disrupt sleep despite provided earplugs, and some find the bathrooms to be quite small.
"I loved my stay! Extremely comfortable and charming hotel! Barbara was very helpful with accommodating my change in plans, and the whole staff was super friendly! I love that my room had wood floors which is so much better than gross carpet that hotels usually have. I also really loved that my room had a ceiling fan. The bed was super comfy and the shower was great. Perfect location to walk around downtown Prescott!"

"I decided to make a bike ride up to Prescott from the Phoenix area. I wanted to choose a good hotel, and coming here was a great idea. The room was small, but I did mention that I was alone and didn't need much, so I got what I asked for. The room greatly reflected that old time vibe and was so pristine. The best part was the meal downstairs; I got my fill. They have only respectable beers on tap; I had the local red brew."

"Hotel is in a great location for walking access to restaurants, bars, shopping. It's quaint and a pretty hotel from a historical perspective. Staff were pleasant and cordial.
However, if you want a quiet and comfortable sleeping experience this is NOT the hotel for you. We had a king corner suite on the third floor this past weekend. As soon as you walk in the room there are packs of earplugs and a note about noise from the street. The traffic noise is unavoidable being on a main street but I'm really surprised not to see this mentioned in the reviews I read. That's why I'm giving it 1 star as people tend to read those.
Sat night went to bed at 9 p.m. and didn't fall asleep until close to 2 a.m. due to VERY load street racing activity on the main drag, as well as groups of yelling people leaving bars. Even with the provided earplugs and the room AC noise, the earplugs did nothing to help us sleep. Upon checkout the front desk said they've complained to the police but nothing's been done about it.
I overheard another guest saying she only got 2 hours sleep so I know it's not just us. If you're from the city and used to that sort of thing, I suppose it's irrelevant but for us, it was a miserable night.
The room itself was decent, but the bathroom was TINY!! Very little space to put toiletries. I had to hang my toiletries bag on the door outside the bathroom."
