Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Roger Williams National Memorial for its historical significance, particularly its role in championing religious freedom. The free admission and the opportunity to learn about Roger Williams are highly appreciated. While the memorial itself is small, its connection to the larger, vibrant Roger Williams Park adds significant value for visitors seeking more activities.

"Beautiful park. And there is a zoo and Botanical Gardens. Betsey Williams Cottage. Plus a Junior Range Program for children. My dog became a BARK RANGER"

Wayne Little

"I really appreciate that this park exists. It’s a very small park mostly pointing to places in the area that you can go visit, but this place truly is the birthplace of religious freedom! What a truly remarkable gift to this country!"

Kristy Johnson

"This is a small national park visitor center that tells about Roger Williams, a pilgrim who stood strong for religious freedom in the 1600’s and influenced our country forever. The visitor center is a few blocks from the memorial statue, giving a good walk thru some kinda step streets, or you could drive to it. The statue is huge, overlooking the city, and you can’t get a really good front facing look at it unless you go to the street below and look up. The walk gave us the opportunity to see it from both angles. There’s also a very nice park by the visitors center. I’m very grateful for Roger Williams bringing true freedom of religion to this country!"
