Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Quincy Shores Reservation for its beautiful beach, historic significance, and family-friendly atmosphere. The boardwalk is a popular spot for strolls, and the tidal pools are a hit with kids. While generally well-loved, some find parking can be challenging on busy weekends.

"Great beach to walk. Stop at Tony's Clam Shack while you're there."

Jonathan Lewis

"So beautiful. Years of history with the area occupied originally by Native American tribes, then English settlers, and now, a very diverse population -- yet so much of the area is still well preserved as it was before outsiders arrived.

There is Black's Creek where the tides were used to run a grist mill. There's the beautiful Wollaston beach where clams were dug and fish were caught. There is a salt marsh and meadows along the way.

Today, kids take sailing lessons on the lake -- and there's canoeing, picnics, and swimming.

On the beach, some of the best fried clams and scallops around. There is a beautiful boardwalk with lots of social activity, walkers, joggers, dogs, and kids. Along the way, you can read history and interesting facts. And there's playgrounds and public bathrooms, too.

Not far from the Quincy Shores Reservation is the original Colonel Josiah Quincy house built in 1770 and the Dorothy Quincy historic house. Amazing and informative tours offered! Both individuals had connections with Colonel John Quincy for whom the City of Quincy is named.

Also, there is the tour of President John Adams' estate, birth place, summer home, and burial grounds. Not to be missed.

Quincy is such an amazing city - urban, yet suburban, with lots of history, restaurants, hills, beaches, parks, bike paths, wildlife -- and plenty of foods to try and things to do."
