"Comprehensive review: Since the early 1970s the Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center has provided a wide variety of nature-based educational programs for students, teachers, organizations, and families. School students engage in guided, hands-on activities while exploring and learning about unique ecosystems.
The nearby Nolde Mansion can be toured once a month. Originally constructed with details throughout, most would be impossible to replace if they were to wear out or become damaged.
There are 10 miles of trails in the Nolde Forest with several starting points on both Rt 625 and Oregon Road. The short North Pond Loop is just off Church Road.
The historic sawmill section has a nice trail along the water with several bridges such as the stone bridge. There are also several picnic tables, a bathroom and several trailheads.
There are three fire gates off Oregon Road. Fire gate #3 has the largest parking lot and access to several trails including the Springs of Puches Run. Gate #4 has no parking nearby. Gate #5 has about 5 parking spaces and a bathroom. You can access the Laurel Path Trail here which goes all the way over to the Education Classroom on the other side of the park.

"We love hiking at Nolde Forest! There are miles of trails that are very family and beginner friendly. The Watershed trail is beautiful year round, and the Coffee Pot Hollow Trail is another favorite of ours. The park service does an open house of the beautiful Nolde Mansion once a month (usually the first Sunday) which involves activities and crafts for kids. This state park is a gem!"
