Reviews Summary
Hay Creek Recreation Area is a beloved spot for many, especially campers who praise its clean facilities and family-friendly atmosphere. "This place is definitely a hidden gem! Great food. Great atmosphere. Whether you're there to enjoy an evening or you're there to stay the weekend or week camping, excellent place to be. Need to come in to see the Buffalo above the bar.
I've been coming in there for 40 years and it's been there as long as I can remember."

"Did not stay but I have hiked their trails which are now mainly horse trails. Place has changed alot from foot trails. Horse trails have taken over recently. Make sure If you go to park by the vehicle section and not by the " horse trailer section" never used to be like that. Otherwise you will come across certain " Karen's " that think they own the place. Yikes! Been coming here for years n not pleased as to how the walking/ hiking trails have been taken over by all horse trails. Don't get me wrong I love animals n horses but this was terrible hiking recently. 😞 hard to walk it now without walking in messes or tramped up trails or coming across riders. Hike at your own risk I guess. Lol 😆 🤣 Enjoy!"

"The location and the service are okay at best The restaurant is a joke their food is overpriced for a meal that is lower quality than McDonald's. Will never eat here again and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. $2.00 for a can of cherry coke on top of what Is less than the portion size of a kids burger with just cheese a very small burger and a bun for $15 plus $0.75 for barbecue sauce for the burger Is highway robbery. Their prices are way too high for such miniscule portions. Almost all fast food places give you a bigger better more portioned out burger for less. Wouldn't even give this place one star if it was a option."
