What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the well-maintained grounds and friendly staff at Redmond Memorial Cemetery, noting it as a peaceful place for walks. However, some express frustration with a lack of respect from a minority of public users, particularly concerning dog waste and damage to memorials, which detracts from the cemetery's intended solemnity.
"The grounds are nice. The staff are nice. But the public use are needing to be more respectful. My son was laid to rest here in 2018. We have had to clean up dog poop off or from around his grave. We also had somethings broken off his grave that the wind does not do. (assuming a dog running around) once my family was there and a lady watched as her dog peed on a grave, my older son nearly lost it. Please be more respectful. This is all we have on earth to hang out with our Liam. It should never be a stressful place or place if more hurt. Keep the peace at this cemetery, do your part."

"Great place to walk a dog but LEASHES are required and PICK UP POO in bags PROVIDED BY THE CEMETARY! I love walking my dog here. Great mostly flat. BUT beware there is an old man (I'm 70 so I can say old) who is a self appointed monitor who is harassing people. Call Redmond Police Non Emergency number if he harasses you. Including his photo."

"The workers here are awesome and truly respect the grounds. But the public are not...dog poop and rude people that get upset with me because I park near my sons grave. This is a place where our loved ones are resting in peace...it is not ok to tell me to move because of snow and you cant get around my car when you are just here to walk the track or let your dogs use the grounds as a dog park park outside the grounds!."

Community Etiquette and Respect
Some visitors have reported encountering individuals who seem to treat the cemetery as a public park rather than a solemn memorial. This can lead to friction, particularly regarding parking near gravesites or perceived obstructions. It's crucial for all visitors to remember that this is a place of remembrance and to act accordingly, ensuring a peaceful environment for grieving families and a dignified resting place for the departed.
While the cemetery staff are commended for their dedication to maintaining the grounds, the responsibility for respectful conduct ultimately lies with the public.
