What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kennydale Beach Park is a beloved local spot offering beautiful lake views and a sandy playground for kids. While parking is limited and amenities are seasonal, its tranquil atmosphere and connection to the Eastrail make it a worthwhile visit for nearby residents. Visitors appreciate the scenic beauty and family-friendly play areas, though caution is advised regarding dock safety and facility availability outside peak season.
"This is a great park for locals to visit. There are only a few nearby parking spots, so without being within walking distance it's a tough place to go to. The playground is great for kids and there's plenty of seating around the edges, as well as two picnic tables and a dock. The presentation of the beach, particularly the fencing, makes it looks a bit run down. There is also a long trail at the entrance that leads all the way to Gene Coulon Park."

"Kids are jumping off the railing on the dock. Without supervision!! Super dangerous!! Make sure to go out onto the dock with your children to watch them jump & make sure they don't get jumped on* by another kids jumping off- The kids do not care here at this area. Also, no parents other than myself were present on the dock. All the other parents were on the sand or whatever so you're watching all the kids and somewhat feel obligated to parent other children who are acting wild. Just be prepared!"

"Fun park. Had a little area for smaller kids to get in besides the stairs that go to a 2 ft deep area. We visited close to the end of may and the bathrooms weren't open yet which was not great. We pick parks that have bathrooms when you have a little person. It doesn't seem like its maintained often but it was clean from the areas we did visit. The parking isn't ideal as it is across the road and up a hill, there also is not a lot of it. We will be back when it warms up and hopefully the bathrooms are open"

Navigating Parking and Access
For those who do drive, arriving early, particularly on weekends or during peak summer months, is highly recommended. Be prepared for a short walk from wherever you manage to park. The limited parking situation means that the park is best suited for those who live nearby or are willing to make a bit of an effort to access it. It's not typically a destination where you can expect ample, convenient parking for everyone.
Family Fun and Safety Considerations
Another practical consideration for families is the seasonal availability of restrooms. These facilities, along with lifeguards, typically don't open until June. If you're visiting outside of the summer season or early in June, you'll need to plan accordingly, especially if you have very young children. Despite these considerations, the combination of a playground and beach access makes it a desirable local park for families looking for outdoor recreation.
The Allure of Lake Washington Views
Whether you're floating in the water, picnicking, or simply sitting on the sand, the lake provides a calming backdrop. The presence of a dock also offers a unique vantage point to appreciate the expanse of the lake and the surrounding landscape. For photographers and those seeking a moment of serenity, the views at Kennydale Beach Park are a significant draw.
