"Candy is a great hike for all ages and levels of experience. It starts off easy and then gains some elevation but not a ton. At just 1.7 miles it's a short hike that provides great views from the top. On the way up the trail splits. It doesn't matter which one you take as the meet up again a short while later. The left fork is not as steep but offers no view. The right fork is a touch steeper but the views are great."

"I'm so glad that there are people working to preserve some natural areas in the Tri-Cities. Candy Mt is like Badger Mt's little sister in terms of difficulty. It's a much easier, much more gentle and accessible climb. Badger Mt will always have my heart but Candy Mt is a great way to introduce your friends to the arid desert outdoors of the Tri-Cities without making them sweat too much. The road to the trailhead parking lot is currently being paved (August 2019). As I said before, the trail is a very gentle climb to the top and at the top there are some large basalt rock benches to relax on and enjoy the view and learn a little bit about the Hanford area."
