What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate Sandy Beach County Park for its relaxed, quiet atmosphere and riverside location, making it ideal for picnics and fishing. However, potential campers should be prepared for strong winds and the need for advance reservations, while day-use visitors might find limited shade and some accessibility challenges.
"Be ready for the wind if you are tent camping! We basically slept in a wind tunnel. Tent was well secured & blew down twice. Finally had to tie it to the car. That being said, the campsites are close to the water maybe a 4-5 min walk. Nice area to get your feet wet or go fishing."

"This was such a nice clean little beach area. Definitely bring water shoes as the ground in some areas can get way too squishy as well as an umbrella as the shade is limited. Parking lot for day use area is on the smaller side and not very friendly for wheelchair users to get down to the beach area. Restrooms are currently under construction in the beach area."
Jasmin Sanchez
"It's a nice beach. We've been here before. We do the day use. But they also have camp sites. I don't know the info on it but it looks nice, clean & chill. They do have construction going on right now. Because of the construction the access to the beach is a bit restricted. But they do still have access to it. They have porta potty's and wash stations. They also have picnic tables with awnings and bbq grills available for day use. We decided to stay on shore to stay close with the kiddos. We brought our own bbq grill and charcoal. I like that it's only about a 35 minute drive from Fairfield to enjoy the beach."
