Thinking about floating Elkhorn river over 4th of July weekend. Any advice?
I want to float the river and have never done so on my own. Since all the floating companies will be closed over the holidays. Seems pretty simple. Drop off at Elkhorn crossing and get off at Graske crossing.
Floating the Elkhorn River
Any advice for where to enter/exit the Elkhorn River this weekend? According to the NRD site, the only two River Park areas that are open are the Grasske (Waterloo) and West Maple sites. Since we want to float for longer than 2 hours (the distance between those two sites), I'm…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
RiverWest Park offers a prime location on the Elkhorn River with opportunities for tubing and swimming, complemented by friendly staff and occasional themed events. However, visitors frequently cite issues with campsite privacy, rocky terrain, and inconsistent water quality and hookup accessibility.
"We booked this campground because of the good rating and the swimming beach at the river! The beach area was very small but that was still the best thing about this campground! Nothing was paved, the camp area was rocky and rough, not nice for children. Lots of long term campers, which gave it a trashy feel. The shade trees were nice, but their water source left much to be desired. It was well water, which was very yellow and smelled like rotten eggs 😝 the owners were friendly and nice, so I’ll give 3 stars but we probably wouldn’t come back again."

"Well maintained campsite with friendly staff. I rented a travel trailer for the first time and expected the sites to be similar to rest stops where you pull in directly. A park manager guided me into backing up a 26ft trailer in the dark! I appreciate the patience and holding in the laughter of a clown show that must have been to witness 😂."

"My family and I had such a blast staying here this weekend. The lady's the help out at the campground are so nice! They have movie nights, and left games out for my Littles to play with. Definitely going to come back!"
