Cascade Lake Park is widely praised as a beautifully designed, inclusive recreational area offering something for everyone. Visitors rave about the playgrounds, lakeside trails, and beach, though some note the recurring issue of goose droppings near the water. The park also shines as a venue for community events and live music.
"Great place for the family and for all ages. Something for everyone. Beach with swimming allowed just watch out for dog poop. 2 mile walking loop around lake with adjoining trails. Wheelchair accessible. Also has a pavilion and looks like indoor party room. Nice little sitting area around a smaller pound. Also nice individual restrooms with running water sinks."

"Cascade Lake Park is hands-down one of Rochester’s most beautiful and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces. You can feel the love and planning that went into turning this former gravel pit into a thriving, 225-acre recreational paradise.
From the moment you arrive, the scenery is inviting—wide-open skies, the shimmering lake, and trails that beckon you to wander. The playgrounds are a highlight for families: nature-themed, inclusive for all abilities, and filled with creative touches like the sandstone carving wall and the sensory garden, which smells and feels like a living storybook. I love this area."

"We visited this park while staying in Rochester for the weekend (late July). It was perfect. I’d like to meet the person who designed this park, because it is that incredible. Like a storybook, or Cocomelon, ideal design. A little kid playground, adjacent big kid playground, AMAZING native prairie garden with a storybook trail and “secret” pond, a fenced off beach / lake, CLEAR water for swimming/kayaking/sand castle building, a pier for fishing, bike trail around the lake, pavilion for parties, nice benches, nice TRASH CANS for that matter, and a bathroom just the right distance away from it all. I’m sure there’s more I’m missing, but we only visited twice as out of towners. Really awesome park.
The only con, that is my number one complaint for all lake beaches… the frigging goose poop. Someone get their kid to do an invention convention and solve the lake beach goose poop problem bc it’s disgusting.
(My photos don’t capture it all.)"
