What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Broadway Historic District is praised for its stunning, well-restored architecture and strong sense of community, making it feel like a step back in time. However, some visitors and residents note concerns about safety and the presence of abandoned properties in certain areas.
"Back in 1975, we were students at Augustana College. We rented this very house for our upcoming Junior year. Just this past weekend, three of us visited this milestone house that we once lived in."

"Beautiful Homes, Great Community—But Some Safety Concerns
We lived in the Broadway Historic Neighborhood for over a decade and truly loved it. The neighbors were friendly, the architecture is stunning, and it was great to see more and more homes being restored and brought back to life.
That said, we did have some issues over the years. Unfortunately, the area does see some rift-raff passing through, especially due to a few known drug houses. Our car and home were vandalized multiple times, and that ultimately pushed us to move.
It’s a neighborhood with a lot of charm and potential, and we still have a soft spot for it—but it’s important to go in with open eyes about the challenges too."
