"The Tule Trail in Rockport, TX, is a hidden gem for those looking to enjoy nature without leaving town. This well-maintained, paved trail winds through a wooded area alongside Walmart and a nearby neighborhood, offering a peaceful escape for walkers, joggers, and cyclists alike.
Despite its urban surroundings, the trail is alive with wildlife. On our morning walk, we spotted bright red cardinals flitting through the trees and listened to the soft coos of Inca Doves. The clear, flowing creek along the path is home to small fish and often attracts foraging shorebirds. One of the highlights of our walk was encountering two bucks just off the trail, calmly grazing as we passed by, a reminder of how nature thrives even at the town’s edge.
The Tule Trail provides a perfect balance of convenience and tranquility, making it a great place to unwind, exercise, or simply enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. If you're in Rockport and looking for an easy, scenic walk with a chance to see local wildlife, this trail is definitely worth a visit!

"My husband and I were on vacation in Rockport, we were visiting from Austin. The very nice lady at the Tourist Information Center suggested if we enjoyed walking, then this would be a good choice to go check out. She was so right! It is absolutely beautiful!! Visitors can either walk or ride a bike. The trail walkway is paved and easy to walk/ride. There are other little trails that you can go exploring that veer off from the main trail. We saw a lot of different birds and about five deer. Lots of greenery too. It was very interesting, and relaxing too. It is a wonderful place to visit!"
