"This place has really gone downhill. The city keeps it up as nice as they can, and they do a great job at cleaning the fallen branches and cutting the grass. There are unsavory people that frequent this park, however. There will always be some form of trash around parking lot and picnic area. This is trash that the city shouldn't have to deal with ie.. condoms, e-cigs, clothing (undergarments), drug paraphernalia, human feces (truly), and frequently vandalism in the form of spray paint. I have personally had my vehicle's window busted out in April of last year while not far away walking my dog, and before that someone had attempted to break into the car.
I'm a longtime resident of Round Rock and this used to be one of my favorite parks in the 80s and 90s. A few years ago they demolished the structure that used to exist where the bbq grills are now. It had restrooms inside and a big fireplace. There were picnic tables scattered throughout the park underneath trees and a nice playground up the hill where that sandbox(?) is located now. Everything changes but this park has certainly changed for the worse.
I'm changing my rating from one star to three stars. There has been a big improvement. Trash in and around the park is very little to none right now. It is a very nice place with large shady Pecans and could be restored to what is used to be. The other section across the creek by the neighborhood is undeveloped and largely unused. A trail system connected with foot bridges across the creek to a picnic area is just what this place needs. Of course the creek smells awful and is very polluted, not really a place to sit for lunch."
