What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Round Rock Cemetery to be a historically rich and significant site, offering a glimpse into Texas's past with notable graves like Sam Bass and a poignant slave cemetery. While the grounds are generally mowed, some reviewers express disappointment with the lack of enforcement regarding plot borders and upkeep, leading to concerns about preservation and respect for the deceased.
"My father is buried here. It is a nice cemetery and definitely close so we can visit him. The disappointing thing is that the cemetery doesn't seem to enforce their "no building borders" and several plots around my father have done just that and disregarded the plots or headstones around them. Just today I went out there on his birthday and there is spray paint drops and tons over over spray on my father's headstone. Where someone attempted to spray paint the border that should have never been built. The lack of fines or the lack of the cemetery owners doing anything regarding that stuff has been disappointing and upsetting. Otherwise it had been a nice cemetery to visit my father at."

"Over 1,000 graves with many pioneer tombstones dating back to the early 1800's, many well known people intered here. Outlaws and lawmen too Grounds are kept mowed and easy access to lots of it, a 1/4 acre slave cemetery is in northwest corner."

"My father-in-law is buried here. It's a nice cemetety, kept mowed and trimmed. I do think people tend to leave ugly grave decorations too long and at least once a year they should throw out stuff if it obviously has been taken care of. But it is a nice mix of people, and you can plant what you want."
