"If you're looking for a little more isolation from the very popular east side of Catoctin Mountain Park, come over to the less-traveled west side and enjoy a somewhat different landscape. Flatter, with lovely mountain streams flowing through the landscape. The picnic area has tables, grills, and a nice easy trail for everyone, great for kids too! Enjoy!"

"You can access some interesting horse trails from this picnic area. Just know that they may be overgrown if you are on foot and be sure not to wander into Camp David accidentally. A GPS is recommended to avoid getting lost. A less known and less trafficked area of Catoctin, for those who prefer solitude to crowds."
