What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center for its family-friendly atmosphere and the unique climbing wall feature. The heated shallow end is a hit with kids and less confident swimmers. However, some guests have experienced strong chemical smells in private pools and noted issues with cleanliness and locker availability during busy periods.
"The front desk worker was super helpful! We arrived at our hot springs reservation late and she added even more time for us! She also let us have a free locker. This was AN AMAZING experience after doing the Four Pass Loop in the Maroon Bells wilderness. Happy to go back!"

"My family & I visited here while visiting family in Buena Vista. The kids enjoyed the bigger (cooler) pool, while I stayed in the 3-4' depth (hotter) pool.
I am on oxygen and had no problems using my oxygen with a 7 ft hose. I did use a 'can' rather than my portable as it is ok to get the can wet. This is the first time I have been able to go into a pool since being put on oxygen 4 years ago. I enjoyed the soak/swim and was able to do some water exercises which really helped my arthritis.
I would recommend for those who want the benefits of the hot springs without crowds."

"The private pool had a very strong chemicals smell.gave me a headache. I'm glad it's clean but it was so strong, I had to fill t h e pool empty it just to rid chemicals. The entire room was soaking wet. I could not sit or lay on the bench. The staff seemed lazy. Other rooms were dry and open but I had to use the used one. Afterwards in the locker room, there were a large group of moms with 3 to 5 kids each screaming and crying babies it was horrid. I had no where to dry off. I could also hear screaming and loud music from the pool in my private bath the whole time. Not worth the cost or smell."
